Introduction:
Kaos was recently sprung from the Miami Dade shelter, has been fostered in the Orlando area, and is now on her way to her forever home in Pennsylvania. She's had an interesting history, first living on the streets in New York City with a homeless man, where she and her owner were befriended by some of the local dog lovers, then living on the streets in Miami until her owner disappeared and she got turned in to Animal Services. Thankfully, Kaos' tags were registered to one of the friends in New York, so she was notified after the shelter called the vet who issued the rabies tags. A last-minute effort with help from OTRA got Kaos sprung from the shelter (she was on borrowed time) and transported to a temporary foster home. She's been loving life at her foster home, getting to experience things like snoozing on the sofa for the first time ever, and her foster mom vouches for her as having a wonderful temperament.

Has this been filled?
I have a friend that will be going from Pensacola, FL to the DC area on Monday, by car. She'll be leaving on Monday around Noon. She isn't sure how much room she will have yet, but if she has room, she is willing to take Kaos with her. (Her boyfriend is being transfered to Japan and she is moving some of his stuff to her apartment in DC as he doesn't trust military shippers or the airline to not damage some of his stuff.)

Re: Has this been filled?
It didn't fill and has cancelled for this weekend. If we can find folks who can get her from Orlando to Pensacola this weekend, that would _rock_ if she could ride all that way with your friend. Let me forward the offer to my sister and the coordinator and see if they think they might be able to pull it off!If Kaos got to her on Sunday, could she overnight her or would we need to find somebody in the Pensacola area who could put her up overnight?

Re: Has this been filled?
Another question... when will she know if she'll have room? It's a long way from Orlando to Pensacola (6 hours, approx) so we'd need to start looking for drivers for that part ASAP, but we obviously can't move Kaos before your friend knows for sure if she'll have room. :-)You can contact me offlist at tollers at livejournal dot com, or have her contact me.
Thanks for the lead! It'd be great if we could get her home to her new mom.

Re: Has this been filled?
I'm going to post this link on my LJ for her to check out. I'll send her a text message so she knows to look and can try to contact you directly. It's 8 AM now, and she figured she'd get to Pensacola around 5 AM today, so I don't want to call this early. :) I'll send her a text message though, so she knows to look.I'll keep my fingers crossed!
